Fitting

Mail order – Fitting your Courteney footwear.

Feet are not made by machines. Everyone’s feet are different, and more often than not the left foot is different from the right. We can be helpful in determining your Courteney size and provide you with measuring instructions, but the more input you give from your own experience and from what stands at the bottom of your wardrobe, the more likely we are to be successful.

Correctly fitting footwear: the toes should be able to move freely within the toe box without touching the end of the boot. The foot should not be able to slide back and forth.

Courteney manufactures in UK full and genuine half sizes – our lasts increase by 1/4” in girth and 1/6” in length between each full and half size.

As we age our feet tend to splay. Going up a half size is recommended.

We commonly make different sized pairs. Motorcycle accidents, landmines and polio mostly for greatly differing sizes, but few people are symmetrical – many of us have feet that are a half size different. Provided you have tried on the boots and established which size for each foot, we will custom make a pair for you. However, they are non-returnable so we do recommend a fitting first.
