I never really gave footwear much thought, in fact the acquisition of my new shoes was left to my Wife who would purchase a pair of "vellies" on special at the local Bata shop every now and again. Some six years ago we were out shopping together in Bulawayo, my Wife and Daughters were shopping for shoes and as it was too early for the pubs to open I reluctantly tagged along. After an hour in the same shoe shop and no sign of leaving for at least another hour I decided I may as well try on some shoes to avoid drifting into a comatose state.
I spotted a range of Courteney footwear and vaguely remembered people enthusing about their Courteneys. I tried on a pair, and that was the turning point in my shoe life. Since then I have developed a bit of a Courteney habit and I am now the proud owner of ten pairs of Courteney footwear - a bit extreme but worth it .....
